Abalos Offers Mediation to Bridge Business and Government for Easier Operations

CABINET SECRETARY Benjamin D. Abalos, Jr. said he is available to mediate between businesses and government agencies to advance the implementation of the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) law. Mr. Abalos had met with a delegation representing the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc.; Philippine Stock Exchange Council of Leaders; Employers Confederation of the Philippines; International Chamber of Commerce Philippines; Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry; Ease of Doing Business Philippines Foundation; Buklod Bayani Coalition; Women’s Business Council Philippines; and Philippine Association of Legitimate Service Contractors. The delegation presented proposals to improve government processes, facilitating investment, and strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors. Mr. Abalos said the Office of the Cabinet Secretary (OCS) can convene government agencies to further enhance the ease of doing business. “Ang sabi ng Pangulo (the President said), we are opening Malacañang. The doors are open for everyone,” Mr. Abalos said. He said the OCS also serves as a conduit between the government and the business sector by bringing concerns to the appropriate agencies and facilitating coordinated government action.
