Vietnam-Laos Friendship Cemetery to Undergo VND 20 Billion Upgrade

The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has officially pledged VND 20 billion (approximately USD 850,000) to Nghe An province to support the project for upgrading, repairing, and restoring the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Cemetery. This financial assistance will be utilized to maintain and develop this significant site, which symbolizes the special friendship between the two nations. Vietnam and Laos have maintained close cooperation across political, military, economic, and social sectors for many years, with their bilateral relations being characterized as "special relations." Notably, cooperation between the armies of both countries serves as a crucial pillar of this relationship. Furthermore, collaboration in theoretical research, education, and political training is being promoted, deepening ties in nurturing future leaders for both nations. The Vietnam-Laos Friendship Cemetery is a sacred place honoring soldiers from both countries who sacrificed their lives during the Vietnam War and the fight for national salvation in Laos. It stands as a vital symbol for remembering the sacrifices and solidarity of the peoples of both nations. In recent years, ceremonies such as candlelight tributes have been held at the cemetery, reaffirming wishes for peace and the enduring friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
