It is necessary to intensify inspections and investigations to detect and arrest for drug use and sale in KTVs, bars, clubs, entertainment programs, hotels, motels, and guesthouses in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Territory, regions, and states, said Union Minister of Home Affairs, Lieutenant General Nyo Win Swe. Lieutenant General Nyo Win Swe, who is also the chairman of the Central Committee for the Prevention and Eradication of Drug and Psychotropic Substances, stated this at the committee's meeting held on September 16 at the Arindama Hall of the Myanmar Police Force Headquarters. In addition to the formation of a steering committee to review and revise the National Drug Control Strategy Plan within Myanmar and the ongoing revision work, it was stated that operations should be continued based on the successes of the special drug control operation "Operation 42," and that it is necessary to prevent the entry of not only drugs but also chemical substances, related materials, and chemists. Furthermore, it was stated that it is necessary to cooperate with the Tatmadaw (Navy), the maritime police force, and port authorities to block and arrest at the maritime entry and exit points.
