Cambodia CPP Focuses on Youth Cadre Development for Succession and Party Growth

The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) is reinforcing its commitment to nurturing young party cadres and expanding its influence, a crucial step for future leadership succession and party growth. On July 18, 2026, Dr. Chrun Theravat, a member of the party's Central Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Central Youth Committee, presided over a ceremony to announce the new Youth Party President for the Party Committee of District 27. The event, attended by approximately 153 party members and youth, including Dr. Mao Chanthara, Deputy Chairman of the Party Committee of District 27, underscored the importance of instilling a strong party spirit among its members. Dr. Theravat emphasized that party members must consistently embody the party's ideology, becoming its "cells" and "lifeblood" to effectively lead the party and the nation in the future. He urged party members to thoroughly study the party's constitution, internal regulations, policies, and decisions, as well as its history and achievements. Understanding the party's objectives is essential for contributing to its leadership and national development, he stated. Dr. Theravat also highlighted the need to understand the party's organizational structure and to increase membership to ensure electoral victories. Furthermore, Dr. Theravat pointed to the Cambodian People's Party's 75-year history, emphasizing its political maturity, extensive experience, and sufficient human resources, positioning it as an irreplaceable force in leading the country. He urged citizens to continue supporting the CPP, recognizing the sacrifices and accomplishments made by party leaders, including former Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, for the nation's peace and development. Dr. Theravat also stressed that solidarity and good deeds among party officials are vital for mobilizing public support and maintaining peace and development. He called on youth members to enhance their sense of responsibility and diligently implement the reform approach of "looking in the mirror, bathing in water, scrubbing off dirt, and healing."
