Vietnam President Meets French President in Paris Ahead of Space Summit

Vietnamese President To Lam met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris on the afternoon of September 10 (local time) during his official visit to the French Republic and his attendance at the Space Summit. The two leaders appeared before the press prior to their talks. This meeting is presumed to have focused on deepening the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France, with an exchange of views on potential cooperation in space development. Vietnam has been increasing its presence on the international stage along with its economic growth in recent years, and strengthening ties with France, a country with advanced technology, holds significant meaning for Vietnam's technological innovation and international cooperation. Under its one-party system, Vietnam prioritizes economic growth and actively attracts foreign investment. In particular, against the backdrop of complex relations with China, strengthening ties with European countries is considered to contribute to Vietnam's diplomatic diversification and economic stabilization. Space development is a field that concentrates advanced technologies, and cooperation between the two countries is expected to yield not only scientific and technological advancements but also economic ripple effects. During his stay in France, President To Lam also met with Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, indicating the progress of the comprehensive cooperative relationship between Vietnam and France.
