Those who have served their national service diligently and wish to work abroad will be provided with employment opportunities

It has been learned that employment opportunities will be provided to citizens who have diligently served their national service and wish to travel and work abroad. Employment opportunities both domestically and abroad are being provided to citizens who have diligently served their national service, and it was learned at the meeting of the Overseeing Committee for Overseas Employment held at the Ministry of Labour on August 3rd that those who wish to travel and work abroad are being connected and assisted with employment opportunities through the Myanmar Overseas Employment Agencies Association (MOEAA) and licensed overseas employment agencies. Furthermore, the Chairman of the Overseeing Committee for Overseas Employment and Union Minister for Labour, U Khin Maung Soe, stated that efforts are being made to expedite the dispatch of workers abroad by easing unnecessary procedures, securing better overseas labor markets, and enhancing the protection of Myanmar migrant workers already in foreign countries. He also mentioned that supervision is being carried out to prevent labor shortages within the country. Subsequently, the Vice-Chairman of the Overseeing Committee for Overseas Employment and Union Minister for Border Affairs, Lieutenant General Phay Myint, discussed that efforts will be made to coordinate with respective ministries to successfully implement the committee's set plans and to submit and implement any necessary recommendations. The Secretary of the Committee, Deputy Minister U Maung Maung Than, clarified the purpose of sending workers abroad, the governing laws and agencies, the process of scrutinizing and issuing licenses for overseas employment agencies, and presented the directives to be discussed at the meeting by the Director-General of the Department of Labour. Committee members then deliberated and made recommendations according to the plans. The meeting was attended by committee members including Deputy Ministers, the Vice-Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, Ambassadors from the Myanmar Embassies in Thailand and Laos, and responsible officials.
