In Sihanoukville, Cambodia, military police have busted an online scam operation and arrested 12 Indonesian nationals, including three women. The operation took place on the night of September 22, 2026, at a shophouse located in Village 1, Sangkat 2, Sihanoukville City. The operation was carried out by a team of 12 officers from the Information Security Investigation Department, led by Colonel Song Kosal, Deputy Commander. Legal coordination was provided by Mr. Chhay Sotra, Deputy Prosecutor of the Sihanoukville Provincial Court. During the raid, authorities seized a significant amount of evidence, including 13 All-in-One desktop computers, 19 personal mobile phones, 28 mobile phones used for online activities, and 52 SIM cards. Additionally, eight passports, two work permits, two identification cards, and two bank cards were confiscated. The 12 suspects have been transferred to the Sihanoukville Military Police Headquarters for questioning and further legal proceedings. This crackdown comes as Cambodian authorities are intensifying measures to combat online fraud and transnational criminal activities that pose a threat to public security and order.
