Indonesia to Join Conference on Combating Online Scams

Indonesia has decided to participate for the first time in a conference on combating online scams hosted by Cambodia. This conference aims to strengthen international cooperation in addressing the rise of cybercrime, particularly online scams, in the Southeast Asian region. The Indonesian government views combating the increasing number of online scam victims domestically in recent years as an urgent task. Through its participation in this conference, Indonesia aims to exchange information on the latest scam methods and effective countermeasures, as well as strengthen cooperation with other countries. In particular, building an international cooperation framework for cross-border scams and those exploiting social media is considered important. The conference is expected to bring together law enforcement agencies and cybersecurity experts from various countries to discuss information sharing and the potential for joint investigations. For Indonesia, this will be an opportunity to enhance its own cybercrime response capabilities and deepen its contribution to international frameworks for protecting its citizens.
