LTFRB Resolves 622 Out of 720 Show-Cause Orders

MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Saturday said it resolved 622 cases out of the 720 show-cause orders (SCOs) issued by the agency from Jan. 1 this year. According to the LTFRB, among those already resolved are the following: READ: LTFRB reopens motorcycle taxi applications on Aug. 5 It In a statement, the agency said that it has been working to address the issues and concerns raised by the public regarding public utility vehicles (PUVs) in the country. "We are committed to ensuring that all PUVs are compliant with the existing regulations and that passengers are provided with safe and reliable transportation," LTFRB Chairperson Teofilo Guadiz III said. The LTFRB issues SCOs to PUV operators who are found to be violating any of the provisions of Republic Act No. 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, and its implementing rules and regulations. The agency said that it has been conducting regular inspections and operations to ensure that PUVs are operating in accordance with the law. "We will not hesitate to impose the necessary sanctions and penalties to those who will be found violating the law," Guadiz added. The LTFRB also urged the public to report any violations or concerns they may have regarding PUVs to the agency. "Your reports are valuable in helping us maintain a safe and orderly transport system," Guadiz said. As of Saturday, the LTFRB has resolved 622 out of the 720 SCOs issued since Jan. 1, 2024. The remaining 98 cases are still under investigation and are expected to be resolved soon.
