DKBA says it does not want to be involved in online scams, will cooperate in fighting them

The Democratic Karen Benevolent Army (DKBA) stated that it will cooperate in fighting online scams and does not want to be involved in them, according to Lt. Gen. Hla Pe, Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peace Committee. Lt. Gen. Hla Pe made this statement at a meeting between the National Solidarity and Peace Committee and the DKBA held in Nay Pyi Taw on July 9. He also said that cooperation will be provided in education, health, and regional development, and that education, health, and regional development necessary for regional stability and peace must be nurtured for the new generation. DKBA Chief of Staff Saw Shwe Oo said that they have worked hand in hand with the government on regional stability and development, and have remained neutral and built harmony during times of conflict. At the meeting, the two groups discussed working together with the government for regional stability, regional development, and lasting peace, fighting online scams, ensuring that terrorist groups are not present in the region, reopening and upgrading schools in the Songsimyait-Wawle-Chaokket region, supplying textbooks, providing teachers, supplying vaccines and medicines for malaria and influenza outbreaks in villages, and ensuring stability and peace in border areas, as well as fast and smooth transportation and trade, it is reported.
