Over 1600 Lakhs Worth of Narcotics Seized in Lashio

Mekong, September 22 Narcotics worth over 1600 lakh kyats were seized in Lashio city, northern Shan State, the Anti-Narcotics Police Force of the State Administration Council announced last night. A joint team including security forces, acting on information, entered the house of Sai Shwe Aung (alias Sai Lun), 64, residing in Ward 12, Neighborhood 7, Lashio city at 7:30 PM on September 17, and found Ma Nan Aung Kyi (alias Aye Aung), 60, with him. Subsequently, a search of the house resulted in the seizure of 5 grams of heroin, 2.905 kilograms of HAPPY WATER, 900 grams of ICE (methamphetamine), 500 ecstasy tablets, and 360 grams of white powder used in the production of HAPPY WATER. The total value of the seized narcotics is 1628.85 lakh kyats at the local market price, according to the statement. Therefore, Sai Shwe Aung (alias Sai Lun) and Ma Nan Aung Kyi (alias Aye Aung), who were found in possession of the narcotics, have been taken action against under the Law Relating to Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, CCDAC Myanmar announced.
