Cambodia Vows to Defend Peace and Sovereignty - Top Official Urges in Banteay Meanchey

Lieutenant General Ke Kim Yan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and head of the party's working group for Banteay Meanchey province, expressed his deepest gratitude to the people for their unwavering trust and strong support for the CPP's leadership across all government mandates. His remarks were made during a meeting with district and commune party officials, village party branch members, and party youth in Preah Net Preah district, Banteay Meanchey province, on the morning of Saturday, July 25, 2026. During the meaningful event, Lt. Gen. Ke Kim Yan highly praised and commended the tireless efforts of all relevant authorities at every level, CPP members, the private sector, religious figures, and all citizens in Banteay Meanchey province. He specifically highlighted the high spirit of nationalism demonstrated by the local authorities, relevant units, working groups, and party members in Preah Net Preah district in their unified efforts to implement the party's and government's political programs. He particularly emphasized the spirit of cooperation in resolving the difficulties faced by displaced persons along the Cambodia-Thailand border and in jointly resisting the invading Thai army in the past. Regarding the general situation of the country, Ke Kim Yan stated that under the energetic and clear-sighted leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, Cambodia continues to adhere to the political path of CPP President and Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen. This has led to an economic growth rate of approximately 4.2% in the first half of 2026 and has achieved significant progress and development in all sectors. As a key directive for local officials, Lt. Gen. Ke Kim Yan strictly advised all party members and local authorities at every level to unite and pledge to resolutely defend peace, political stability, social order, the nation, religion, the monarchy, national sovereignty, and the Cambodian government. He urged them to continue promoting and effectively implementing the 'Safe Village, Commune, District' policy to ensure the safety and security of citizens at the grassroots level.
