Thai Police Intercept Truck Carrying 19 Myanmar Migrants; Driver Flees After Crash

In the Thong Pha Phum district of Kanchanaburi province, western Thailand, a truck carrying 19 undocumented migrants from Myanmar attempted to force its way through a police checkpoint. When police officers attempted to question the driver, the driver fled by driving the vehicle the wrong way. However, during the escape, the vehicle lost control and overturned in an accident.
