Cambodian SME Federation Meets Myanmar Ambassador to Explore Market Opportunities

A delegation from the Federation of Associations for Small and Medium Enterprises of Cambodia (FASMEC) has aimed to build a cooperative framework to promote the entry of Cambodian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) into the Myanmar market through a meeting with the Cambodian Ambassador to Myanmar. On September 22, 2026, in Yangon, Myanmar, a delegation led by FASMEC President Oknha Te Tang Pou paid a courtesy call and exchanged views with H.E. Cheng Manith, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. During the cordial meeting, Ambassador Manith provided a detailed explanation of the current situation, business, and investment environment in Myanmar, striving to enable the FASMEC delegation to gain a clearer understanding of the country's conditions and business opportunities. The ambassador expressed his pleasure at the visit of the FASMEC delegation and pledged the embassy's commitment to facilitate and support Cambodian SMEs, businesspersons, and merchants intending to explore the market, expand their businesses, invest, or export Cambodian products to Myanmar. This meeting also served as an opportunity for the involved parties to exchange opinions and seek appropriate mechanisms to facilitate trade and business operations for Cambodian entrepreneurs in the Myanmar market. The meeting is considered a step towards creating new opportunities for Cambodian merchants to expand their markets and export domestic products to international markets, especially within the ASEAN region.
