DA revokes permit for suspected smuggled rice shipment before arrival
The Department of Agriculture announced it ordered the revocation of the sanitary and phytosanitary import clearance for a vessel carrying suspected smuggled rice before its arrival in the Philippines. Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. made the decision after receiving "derogatory" information about the shipment.
