Hue City Expands Search for Fallen Soldiers' Remains

In Hue City, central Vietnam, efforts to collect the remains of fallen soldiers are being vigorously pursued. On the morning of the 21st, Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, inspected the work of collecting remains around Hue Station in Huong Thuy Ward. Vice Chairman Manh instructed that the search area be further expanded and that information sources be meticulously verified to ensure no fallen soldiers' remains are left in the area. This activity is part of the '500-Day Operation' aimed at collecting the remains of fallen soldiers. In the past four months, this operation has already collected 1,384 sets of remains, and city authorities are striving to ensure no delays occur in its progress. Furthermore, Vietnam Post is playing a role in transporting DNA samples of the fallen soldiers' relatives as part of this operation. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the state places significant emphasis on commemorating war victims and collecting remains as a symbol of national unity. This is positioned as an integral part of policies aimed at fostering patriotism by sharing the memories of past wars. While Vietnam continues its economic growth, its commitment to consolidating national solidarity through such social initiatives remains consistent.
