Kampong Speu Province Reports Nearly 90% Pass Rate in High School Diploma Exams

The results of the 2026 high school diploma examinations (Bak Doup) in Kampong Speu Province, announced on September 2, 2026, show that 4,845 out of 5,222 candidates passed, achieving a pass rate of approximately 89.7%. Thirty-one candidates (22 female) received the top grade 'A'. Following this, 277 candidates (175 female) received 'B', 919 (591 female) received 'C', 2,032 (1,306 female) received 'D', and 1,963 (1,064 female) received 'E'. Kampong Speu Provincial Governor Dr. Cham Chanthy Sophen noted that despite a decrease in the number of students achieving the top 'A' grade compared to 79 in 2025, the overall pass rate was significantly higher. The governor stated that this outcome reflects the diligent efforts of teachers, improvements in educational quality, and the students' commitment to learning in various educational institutions. He also highlighted the contribution of deep reforms by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport to ensure smooth examinations in line with the principle of 'those who know will pass'. Furthermore, the governor added that the high number of students achieving excellent grades is also a testament to the encouragement and strengthening of teaching capacity by educators, as well as the participation of relevant authorities, especially parents, in motivating their children. Students who achieved an 'A' grade in the August 10, 2026 examination will receive encouragement from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service, H.E. Hun Many, who also heads the government working group for Kampong Speu Province.
