A man and a young girl were seriously injured when their pickup truck crashed through a barrier and plummeted from an elevated expressway in Bangkok's Ratchathewi district early Sunday morning. The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on the Sri Rat expressway above Rom Ratchathewi public park on Ratchadapan (Mor Leng) Road in Makkasan sub-district. The grey pickup truck, bearing Bangkok license plate 3 Thor Ngo 2087, landed on a pile of concrete rubble. The driver, a man in his 30s, and a girl aged 3-4 years, were both severely injured. Rescuers immediately transported them to a nearby hospital. The driver was seen bleeding from his face after exiting the vehicle, while the young girl was trapped inside. A construction worker in the vicinity reported hearing a loud crash and witnessing the pickup truck fall. On the expressway, police discovered a damaged concrete barrier at a Y-shaped junction. The police investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing. Information Source: Bangkok Post
