A Vietnam Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Yangon International Airport after a passenger gave birth onboard, according to Vietnam News. The flight, en route from Copenhagen, Denmark to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, had to divert to Yangon, Myanmar, after a passenger went into labor. Flight attendants on Vietnam Airlines flight VN38 followed emergency procedures and, with the help of five volunteer passengers, successfully delivered the baby onboard the aircraft. However, the flight was diverted to Yangon to ensure the mother and newborn could receive emergency medical treatment. The flight then resumed, departing at 3:30 AM local time on September 6 and safely landing at Tan Son Nhat Airport at 6:05 AM. While there may have been additional costs and schedule disruptions, the airline commended the swift cooperation between the flight crew and ground services for ensuring the safety and health of the passengers.
