Vietnam Inspects Efforts to Recover Martyrs' Remains in Tuyen Quang Province

A delegation from the National Steering Committee for Search, Collection, and Identification of Martyrs' Remains, led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gấu, Member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Defense, and Deputy Head of the National Committee, inspected the progress of search and collection of martyrs' remains in Tuyen Quang Province on September 4. This endeavor is a crucial initiative to collect the remains of soldiers who perished in prolonged wars, identify them, and thereby offer solace to bereaved families and fulfill the nation's historical responsibility. Vietnam has experienced lengthy conflicts, leaving many martyrs' remains yet to be identified. The inspection aims to oversee and enhance the efficiency of similar activities ongoing across the country. Reports indicate that over 1,800 martyrs' remains have been collected and identified in the past five months alone, highlighting the significance of this undertaking. Under Vietnam's one-party system, such efforts to address historical legacies are continuously pursued as part of policies emphasizing social stability and national reconciliation. Cooperation with neighboring countries, including Laos and Cambodia, is also being advanced, with cross-border remains collection operations being conducted.
