Cambodian Prison Officials to Undergo Security Training in Vietnam

The Cambodian Ministry of Interior will send prison officials to Vietnam for advanced training to strengthen prison security and safety capabilities. This initiative aims to enhance both the knowledge and technical skills of the personnel. According to the General Department of Prisons, this supplementary course in Vietnam will last for three months and marks the 10th cohort. The training will focus on specialized skills related to prison security and safety. Prior to their departure, the participating prison officials received orientation from Mr. Chon Sanath, Director General of the General Department of Prisons (First Class Senior Inspector), on the morning of August 3, 2026. Mr. Chon Sanath emphasized that these three months represent a golden opportunity for the prison officials to develop themselves. He urged them to acquire the knowledge, technical skills, and expertise relevant to the course to contribute to their departments. They are considered potential resources, holding hope and expectations for the General Department of Prisons and the Ministry of Interior. He further instructed the prison officials studying in Vietnam to diligently pursue their studies, adhere to high standards of discipline and responsibility, and strictly abide by the laws and internal regulations of the training institution and the host country. He reminded them that their actions and demeanor represent the reputation and honor of all Cambodian prison officials and the nation. Additionally, he encouraged them to maintain solidarity among themselves, preserve national traditions, customs, and identity to uphold the dignity of the Ministry of Interior and the nation. He also expressed the hope that they would foster camaraderie and brotherhood with participants from other countries, promote Cambodia's culture and traditions, and show respect and appreciation for the culture of Vietnam, thereby reflecting the good traditions and close friendship between the two countries.
