Vietnam Weather August 8: North Sees Return of Heat, South Faces Afternoon Thunderstorms

On August 8, Vietnam's northern regions are expected to experience a return of heat after several days of heavy rain. Meanwhile, the southern part of the country will see intermittent sunshine, with thunderstorms forecast for the afternoon. According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the north will be sunny during the day, with some areas experiencing intense heat. The central coastal region, from Thanh Hoa to Hue city and the south-central coast, will also be sunny with some areas seeing intense heat. However, from Thanh Hoa to northern Quang Tri, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected from the afternoon into the evening. The Central Highlands and southern regions will be cloudy with scattered rain and thunderstorms. Some areas in the southeast may experience heavy rainfall. During thunderstorms, caution is advised due to the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. At sea, scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the northern East Sea (including the Paracel Islands), the eastern part of the central East Sea, sea areas from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, sea areas from Ca Mau to An Giang, and the Gulf of Thailand. These sea areas may experience tornadoes, strong gusts of wind (level 7-8), and sea waves exceeding 2 meters. Hanoi will be cloudy with sunny periods during the day, with minimum temperatures ranging from 26-28°C and maximum temperatures from 33-35°C. The northwestern and northeastern regions will also be sunny with some areas experiencing intense heat. Maximum temperatures will range from 32-35°C, with minimum temperatures between 22-27°C. From Thanh Hoa to Hue, the northern parts will be cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, while the southern parts will be sunny with some areas experiencing intense heat. Temperatures will range from 30-33°C at their highest and 24-27°C at their lowest. The south-central coastal region will be sunny with some areas experiencing intense heat, with maximum temperatures from 32-35°C and minimum temperatures from 25-28°C. The Central Highlands will be cloudy with showers and thunderstorms from the afternoon into the evening, and some areas may experience heavy rainfall. Maximum temperatures will be between 26-29°C, and minimum temperatures between 21-24°C. The southern region will also be cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms in the east from the afternoon into the evening, and some areas may experience heavy rainfall. Maximum temperatures will be between 31-34°C, and minimum temperatures between 24-27°C. Ho Chi Minh City will be cloudy with showers and thunderstorms from the afternoon into the evening, and some areas may experience heavy rainfall, with maximum temperatures from 32-34°C and minimum temperatures from 25-27°C.
