New Concrete Road Inaugurated in Tboung Khmum Province, Cambodia

A 950-meter concrete road was officially inaugurated on July 25, 2026, in Trapeang Krabey village, Mung Riev commune, Tboung Khmum District, Tboung Khmum Province. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Minister of Environment and Head of the Government Working Group for Tboung Khmum Province, attended the ceremony as the high representative of Prime Minister Hun Manet. The event was also attended by leaders, government officials, working group members, local authorities, and many citizens. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi congratulated the residents on this significant achievement for 2026, stating that the new road is a vital economic artery that directly addresses practical needs and serves the common interests of the local population. He added that the 7th mandate government, led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, continues the work of the 6th mandate government led by Prime Minister Hun Sen, pursuing profound reforms with pride and dignity. The government has launched the first phase of the 'Pentagonal Strategy,' focusing on five priority policies: 'People, Roads, Water, Electricity, and Technology.' The aim is to uphold noble patriotism, fulfill the historical mission of serving the nation, homeland, and people, strengthen peace and prosperity, foster unity, achieve vibrant national development, and move towards the vision of becoming a high-income country by 2050, a civilized nation with smiling and hopeful citizens. During the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi conveyed greetings from Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Bun Rany Hun Sen, Prime Minister Hun Manet, and his wife, Dr. Pich Chanmony, to the people of Tboung Khmum Province. According to a report from the Tboung Khmum District Administration, 68 solar streetlights will be installed along the newly inaugurated road. In total, residents in Mung Riev commune, Tboung Khmum District, Tboung Khmum Province, have benefited from the construction of 5,821 meters of concrete roads, repair of gravel-surfaced dirt roads, maintenance of gravel-mixed roads, construction of concrete roads, restoration of irrigation canals, repair of Afrideck pumps, construction of concrete water retention dams, and the installation of solar streetlights and waste bins in public places, schools, pagodas, and health centers.
