Thai Deputy PM & Minister of Higher Education Discloses Assets Worth 347 Million Baht

Yotchanan Wongsawat, Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, has submitted his asset and liability declaration to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) upon taking office as a party-list Member of Parliament for the Pheu Thai Party on March 15, 2024. He also declared a condominium unit in the Pathum Wan district of Bangkok worth 19,493,521 baht and other assets totaling 11,345,000 baht. His liabilities consist of an overdraft of 234,553 baht. His approximate annual income is 3,943,532 baht, comprising a salary of 2,192,944 baht and rental income of 1.6 million baht, among other sources. His annual expenses are reported at 3,502,600 baht, with 2.4 million baht allocated to personal expenses and 1,102,600 baht for children's tuition. Among his other declared assets are two Patek Philippe watches valued at 2 million baht each (totaling 4 million baht), one Rolex watch at 1.5 million baht, four diamond rings worth a total of 4,950,000 baht, two gold necklaces valued at 770,000 baht, and a Louis Vuitton suitcase for 125,000 baht. Nanthakan, his spouse, has assets totaling 54,914,503 baht. This includes 5 bank accounts with deposits of 6,718,783 baht, one plot of land valued at 3,960,000 baht, a two-story house valued at 2,277,720 baht, and other assets amounting to 41,958,000 baht. Her liabilities are an overdraft of 141,027 baht. She has no declared annual income, but reports annual personal expenses of 400,000 baht.
