Vietravel Airlines announced that it will launch direct flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Shenzhen, China, starting August 15, 2024. This new route is expected to meet the growing demand for trade, investment, tourism, and supply chain development between the two cities. Shenzhen is positioned as the gateway to the Greater Bay Area (GBA), one of China's leading economic and technological innovation hubs, encompassing Guangzhou and Hong Kong. This direct flight will allow passengers easier access to key GBA cities. A representative from Vietravel Airlines stated, "This route will significantly enhance travel convenience between Vietnam and the GBA." Ho Chi Minh City, as Vietnam's economic center, will serve as a gateway for Chinese tourists exploring various destinations in Vietnam. Leveraging Vietravel Airlines' extensive network and travel ecosystem, passengers from Shenzhen will be able to seamlessly connect to popular Vietnamese tourist spots such as Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and Hanoi. The flight time between Ho Chi Minh City and Shenzhen is expected to be approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes. The airline will offer early morning and late-night flights optimized for the schedules of business travelers, exhibition attendees, and tour groups. The company aims to provide a competitive option against current transit routes by offering "direct flights, accessible prices, and clear services." A representative from Vietravel Airlines emphasized that this route launch will serve as a foundation for future expansion into other potential Chinese markets, including Chongqing, Kunming, Hangzhou, and Nanjing. This is part of the airline's long-term strategy to enhance Vietnam's connectivity with the Asia-Pacific region. In preparation for the new route, Vietravel Airlines held a conference for travel agents in Shenzhen. The event was attended by the Trade Representative of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Guangzhou, who highly praised the airline's efforts in promoting economic, cultural, and tourism cooperation between the two countries. Additionally, the airline has partnered with Shenzhen Chanxiaolong Network Technology as its local general sales agent in Shenzhen, aiming for rapid market penetration and a unified system for flight information, pricing, and customer service. The company stated that developing key international routes is crucial for repositioning its brand towards a more modern and dynamic image during its brand transition. This initiative is intended to lay the groundwork for a new phase of growth, enhancing customer experience and expanding its service ecosystem in the international skies. Source: VnExpress
