The Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone (KEK) has officially launched Sira Village-Grand Outlet Bali, the first and largest village outlet in Bali, with an investment of IDR 1.5 trillion. This new commercial facility is projected to create over 1,000 jobs and strengthen the attractiveness of investment and the tourism sector on the Island of the Gods. Sira Village is developed by PT Bali Turtle Island Development (BTID) as the Bali Kura Kura Tourism Development and Management Agency (BUPP), in collaboration with Mitsubishi Estate. The presence of this area is expected to bolster investment attractiveness and encourage Bali's economic growth. Carrying an open space concept, Sira Village features more than 100 premium brands across approximately 130 retail and culinary outlets. Furthermore, it provides space for local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) actors, artists, and creative products, aiming to foster a culture-based economy. Rizal Edwin Manansang, Acting Secretary General of the National Council of KEK, stated that Sira Village is a result of collaboration that strengthens the investment ecosystem in KEK Kura Kura Bali and supports the development of quality tourism in Indonesia. "In the midst of ever-evolving global dynamics, tourism plays a crucial role in driving economic growth and providing direct benefits to the community. The presence of Sira Village Grand Outlet Bali enhances Bali's appeal as a world-class retail and lifestyle destination. This destination is expected to expand labor absorption, drive the local business sector and supply chain, and provide wider economic benefits to the community," he said. Tantowi Yahya, President Director of PT Grand Outlet Bali, emphasized that Sira Village is built not just as a shopping center, but as a destination offering a quintessential Balinese experience through a blend of retail, culture, and public spaces. "We don't want to just build an outlet; we want to present a village, a place where people can stroll leisurely, enjoy the sunset with their families before heading to the airport, grab a cup of coffee, and leave with beautiful memories from Bali," he stated. Toru Hayamizu, Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Estate, conveyed that the collaboration between Mitsubishi Estate and BTID is founded on a shared vision to present a destination that integrates international investment with local potential, without neglecting cultural values and sustainability. "Today marks not only the opening of a new retail destination but also the realization of a shared vision, a strong partnership, and a commitment to building Bali's future. We aim to create a destination where international investment and local creativity can thrive together while respecting culture, society, and the environment," he said. As of Semester I 2026, KEK Kura Kura Bali has recorded cumulative investment realization of IDR 1.79 trillion, with the absorption of 2,173 workers and involvement of three business actors. Investment realization in Semester I 2026 reached IDR 335.92 billion, or 33.56 percent of the annual target of IDR 1.001 trillion, while labor absorption reached 499 people, or 38.18 percent of the target of 1,307 workers. The presence of Sira Village is expected to accelerate investment realization in KEK Kura Kura Bali, increase tourist visits, open new business opportunities, and expand labor absorption. With increasingly complete facilities, KEK Kura Kura Bali is poised to further strengthen its role as a driver of Bali's economic growth and support the development of the national tourism sector.
