During a gathering in Stoung District, Kampong Thom Province, on July 18, 2026, Mr. Tho Chethda, Head of the Working Group for Stoung District, urged citizens to enhance their vigilance against online scams and fake news. He noted that criminals are exploiting the internet to employ various deceptive tactics, including prize notifications, illegal investment schemes, and bank account data theft. Mr. Chethda strongly advised against believing promises of unrealistic profits and clicking on suspicious links from unclear sources. He stressed the importance of caution regarding fake news, encouraging residents to verify information from official sources or professional news organizations before believing or sharing it, thereby preventing misunderstandings and community disruption. Furthermore, Mr. Chethda highlighted the significance of sound family financial management. He advocated for spending only on essential daily needs and avoiding wasteful expenditures or unnecessary debt to maintain household economic stability. He emphasized that national development and harmonious living are contingent upon complete "peace." Therefore, every citizen must contribute to good deeds in their local communities, cherish, and protect peace to fully seize opportunities for livelihood and community advancement.
