400 kilos of frozen chicken seized in Abra checkpoint

BANGUED, Abra, Philippines — A shipment of frozen chicken weighing approximately 400 kilos was intercepted at a checkpoint in San Quintin town, Abra province, on Thursday. The operation aimed to curb illegal transport of agricultural products and protect public health. Members of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (2PMFC) pulled over an Isuzu truck in Barangay Tangadan after receiving information about an impending illegal shipment. The driver of the truck failed to present the necessary permits for the transport of his cargo. The seized frozen meat and the vehicle have been turned over to the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian for evaluation and proper disposition. Lt. Col. Igan Ballangan, chief of the 2PMFC, emphasized that checkpoint operations are crucial in preventing the illicit movement of agricultural products and safeguarding public health.
