Myanmar Airways International (MAI) has announced that it will launch a new route connecting Yangon and Pyin Oo Lwin (near the city) starting July 18, aiming to make travel more convenient for passengers. The flights will operate every Saturday. The airport near Pyin Oo Lwin, which has undergone upgrades and construction, was opened on July 11 with the aim of allowing tourists to visit conveniently in a short period and to promote the socio-economic development of local residents. MAI, based in Yangon and Mandalay, is known to operate flights to 21 domestic destinations and 21 international destinations, including the new Pyin Oo Lwin route, using Airbus A320 Family aircraft, Embraer E190 aircraft, ATR72-600 aircraft, and Boeing 737 Freighters.
