Occidental Mindoro Sees Dramatic Economic Turnaround, Reducing Poverty and Insurgency

MANILA, Philippines – Improving economic conditions in the province of Occidental Mindoro have led to a significant reduction in poverty and insurgency incidents, according to the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-Elcac). Occidental Mindoro Lone District Rep. Leody Tarriela stated that the province has undergone a dramatic economic turnaround from a previous poverty rate of 2.1 percent.
