Battambang Governor Inspects Domestic Cattle Farm, Highlighting Economic Self-Reliance

Battambang Governor Sok Lu on September 4, 2026, inspected the RPRU cattle breeding farm, established by young Cambodians, located in Prey Phdau village, Ta Kram commune, Banan district, Battambang province. According to the farm manager, the farm currently has over 1,000 breeding cows and cows for artificial insemination. Breeding began at the end of 2025, and the farm is now producing calves that can be supplied to beef cattle farms. The farm was established in 2022 on approximately 60 hectares of land and is officially registered with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, holding a certificate as a disease-free farm nationwide. Initially, the farm started with over 400 beef cattle, and by 2026, it has surpassed 4,000 head. The farm plans to expand to 6,000 head by the end of 2026. The current prices for beef cattle are favorable, encouraging farmers to continue raising them. The farm manager expressed gratitude to the leadership of Battambang province and relevant departments for their continuous encouragement in the beef cattle farming sector. During the inspection, Governor Sok Lu encouraged the farm to expand its high-quality and safe beef cattle farming to enhance its capacity to supply the domestic market's demand.
