NUG says it will investigate Mon State PLA base attack and take legal action

U Nay Phone Latt, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office of the National Unity Government (NUG), said that investigations are currently underway regarding the attacks on People's Liberation Army (PLA) bases in Mon State, and that strict legal action will be taken based on the findings. U Nay Phone Latt made these remarks in response to Mizzima's inquiry about the incident in which some district battalions of the People's Defense Force (PDF) under the NUG entered and attacked three PLA bases under the NUG in Mon State on the evening of June 29. "We have heard that there were casualties. Civilians were also among them. We have not yet received a confirmed report of the exact number. If civilians are harmed, it is a matter that cannot be tolerated at all. Therefore, we are currently conducting investigations and inquiries into this incident. After a thorough investigation, we will take effective action in accordance with the law," said U Nay Phone Latt. U Nay Phone Latt also stated that it is understood that the attack was not carried out under the instructions of phased military units, and that the military headquarters is currently investigating the incident.
