"As part of established weather contingency procedures, affected CAAP-operated airports have been directed to secure communication equipment, navigational facilities, control towers, and other critical airport infrastructure against the potential effects of strong winds and heavy rainfall, in line with the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez," CAAP said in a news release. According to PAGASA, Super Typhoon Inday slightly intensified Wednesday morning as it moved west northwestward over the Philippine Sea east of Northern Luzon. The tropical cyclone is not expected to make landfall but is forecast to pass closest to Extreme Northern Luzon by Friday before tracking toward the southern islands of Japan and the waters north of Taiwan. CAAP said airport operations remain normal but stressed that it continues to closely monitor the weather to ensure readiness should conditions warrant further action.
