In Laymyethna Township, Ayeyarwady Region, some of the schools that were temporarily closed due to the Ngwun River flooding have been able to reopen, according to the Ayeyarwady Region government. Out of 39 basic education schools that were temporarily closed in Laymyethna Township, 7 schools have been able to reopen since August 28 and are now conducting classes, as the water levels have receded in recent days. It is reported that the regional fire brigade and relevant departments are jointly carrying out cleaning operations at schools in areas where the water has further receded, in order to reopen them. Furthermore, it has been learned from the Ayeyarwady Region government that in some areas within Laymyethna Township, the water has receded, leading to the closure of 3 flood relief camps, and residents have returned to their homes.
