Vietnamese President Meets Cambodian National Assembly Chairwoman, Reinforces Bilateral Ties

On the morning of July 28, in Hanoi, Vietnamese President To Lam held a meeting with a high-level delegation from the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led by Chairwoman Samdech Khuon Sudary, who is on an official visit to Vietnam. During the meeting, the leaders of both countries affirmed that the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia have continued to yield positive results in recent years. They particularly emphasized the significant role of cooperation between their parliaments in sharing legislative activities, promoting mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries, and contributing to regional and global peace and stability. President To Lam stated that Cambodia is an important neighbor to Vietnam and that the development of bilateral relations benefits the people of both nations. He expressed his expectation that the Cambodian National Assembly will continue to contribute to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two countries. Chairwoman Khuon Sudary congratulated To Lam on his assumption of the presidency and emphasized that Cambodia highly values its friendly cooperative relations with Vietnam. She expressed the Cambodian National Assembly's intention to further deepen parliamentary exchanges between the two countries and expand cooperation in areas such as economy, culture, and tourism. Both sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues and agreed on the importance of strengthening cooperation within the ASEAN framework and jointly working to maintain peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. This meeting underscored the strong ties between Vietnam and Cambodia and their mutual commitment to cooperating towards achieving common goals.
