Cambodia Seals Hotel Linked to Online Scam Operations
In Cambodia's Kampong Speu province, a hotel identified as a hub for online scams has been sealed. A joint task force led by the provincial deputy governor inspected the site, designating it for the storage of seized evidence. This action is part of efforts to combat technology-related crimes.
Kampong Speu Province: On July 24, 2026, Mr. Toch Poliva, Deputy Governor of Kampong Speu Province and head of the task force for the crackdown on online scams, led a joint team to inspect a sealed location. This site was identified as a place involved in and providing facilities for the commission of online fraud. The operation was conducted with procedural coordination from the Kampong Speu Provincial Court prosecutor's office. Major General Nhem Sao, Deputy Police Commissioner of Kampong Speu Province, participated in identifying the sealed location and designating it as a place to store evidence related to past online scam crackdowns. Specifically, the hotel named 'Long Wan Resort', located along the waterway in Vll Preng village, Ka Heng commune, Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province, has been sealed by authorities and designated as a storage site for materials. Currently, with the high-level approval of provincial leadership, the location has been handed over to the Kampong Speu Provincial Police Commissionerate for security. A 24-hour guard is in place, with sufficient reserves of both personnel and means.
