Vietnam: Typhoon No. 2 Weakens, Direct Impact on Mainland Limited; Hanoi Sunny, Southern Regions Brace for Heavy Rain

On July 26, Vietnam's northern coastal areas are expected to experience strong winds, high waves, and rough seas in the northern part of the East Sea due to the influence of Typhoon No. 2. However, the typhoon is not expected to directly impact the Vietnamese mainland. On land, scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the northwestern mountainous region, southern Vietnam, and Lam Dong province, with localized heavy rainfall exceeding 60mm in some areas. Meanwhile, the capital city of Hanoi is expected to be sunny, with the highest temperature ranging from 33 to 35 degrees Celsius. Typhoon No. 2 is currently moving over the sea south of China's Guangdong province and is bringing strong winds of up to 13-15 gusts in the northern East Sea. On July 25, the country experienced showers and thunderstorms in many places, with some areas receiving very heavy rainfall. On July 24, a tropical depression was predicted to intensify into a typhoon, with heavy rains anticipated for the northern region. Vietnam frequently experiences various weather phenomena throughout the year, with increased risks of floods and landslides during the rainy season. The government continues to urge vigilance and preparedness for natural disasters.
