Jakarta Investment Surges to Rp173.6 Trillion, Governor Attributes Growth to Investor Confidence

Investment in Jakarta has surged to Rp173.6 trillion in the first semester of 2026, according to data from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Governor Pramono Anung highlighted this achievement during the inauguration of the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai Light Rail Transit (LRT) on Wednesday, September 16. Pramono stated that Jakarta's investment realization reached Rp270.9 trillion in 2025, a significant increase from Rp103.3 trillion in 2021. The figure of Rp173.6 trillion for the first half of 2026 represents approximately 17.2 percent of the national investment realization. "In 2025, investment in Jakarta is Rp270 trillion. Even in the second quarter of this year, in 2026, Jakarta's investment is Rp173 trillion," said Pramono in front of President Prabowo Subianto. He attributed this investment growth to a "sense of security and investor confidence" in the capital. Pramono also noted that Jakarta's economy grew by 5.52 percent, contributing 16.32 percent to the national economy. DKI Provincial Government data recorded Jakarta's economic growth of 5.52 percent, while investment throughout the first half of 2026 reached Rp173.6 trillion or around 17.2 percent of the realization of national investment. According to Pramono, the increase in investment cannot be separated from the confidence of business actors in the condition of Jakarta. "This means that the economy in Jakarta is growing well, and this is not possible without a sense of security, comfort, and also the trust of investors from anywhere about Jakarta," he said. He linked the development of public transportation systems, including the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT, with efforts to increase the city's connectivity and productivity. The new corridor was built along 12.2 kilometers with an investment of Rp. 12.1 trillion and is targeted to carry around 80 thousand passengers per day. This substantial investment inflow suggests that ongoing infrastructure development and the perceived stability and security of Jakarta are attracting both domestic and international investors. The context includes the administration under President Prabowo Subianto, aiming to foster economic growth and a stable investment climate.
