Can Tho City Breaks Ground on Key Social Housing and International Hospital Projects
Can Tho City, Vietnam, has commenced construction on two significant projects: a social housing complex and an international hospital. These developments are expected to boost local economic growth and improve residents' well-being.
On September 18, Can Tho City, in coordination with relevant agencies, held a groundbreaking ceremony for social housing projects in Ninh Kieu ward and the Nam Can Tho University International Hospital (Phase 2) in Cai Rang ward. These two key projects are expected to create a breakthrough in attracting investment and promoting the local socio-economic growth. The social housing project in Ninh Kieu ward has a total investment of over VND 568 billion (approximately USD 23 million), built on an area of 2,166.2 square meters. The facility will feature 25 floors above ground and 2 basement levels, offering 308 apartments integrated with amenities such as a kindergarten, community living areas, and a complete technical infrastructure. The Nam Can Tho University International Hospital (Phase 2) project spans a total floor area of nearly 6 hectares, with a scale of 20 floors above ground and 2 basement levels. The total investment for this phase exceeds VND 1,800 billion (approximately USD 74 million), which will increase the hospital's total capacity to 1,000 beds upon completion. The development of these two facilities is anticipated to not only address social welfare issues and enhance the quality of healthcare and personnel training but also contribute to the completion of modern urban infrastructure in Can Tho.
