Cambodia Conducts Rigorous Oral Exams for Civil Servant Recruitment, Ensuring Uniform Standards for Transparency

On the morning of September 19, 2026, Cambodia conducted rigorous oral examinations as part of its civil servant recruitment process. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Service, Hun Many, who also chairs the examination committee, visited the Royal School of Administration examination center. He personally inspected the process and provided guidance to the sub-committees and chief examiners regarding the stringent mechanisms and procedures set for the competitive examination to select officials for the National Institute of Statistics under the Ministry of Planning. In this crucial stage, 26 outstanding candidates, who had successfully passed the first written examination, arrived at the venue early, well before the scheduled time. They were well-organized and demonstrated their readiness, both mentally and in terms of knowledge, with high confidence to participate in the 'oral examination' which commenced at 8:00 AM. This examination process is a vital step towards ensuring transparency and fairness in public service recruitment. Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many has repeatedly stressed the importance of conducting examinations based on uniform standards, aiming to provide equal opportunities for all candidates.
