Phuket Police Arrest Woman Selling Illegal Weight-Loss Pens Online

Phuket City Police, in coordination with the Phuket Provincial Public Health Office, have arrested a 25-year-old woman for illegally selling unlicensed weight-loss products online. Officials told The Phuket Express. The suspect, identified by the alias Ms. "Ploy," was apprehended in a rented room in Rassada Subdistrict, Muang District, Phuket. Upon executing a search warrant, officers discovered that she was using online platforms to sell the illicit weight-loss pens. Seized items included the weight-loss pens, a mobile phone, a computer, and sales records. These products were confirmed to be neither approved nor regulated by the Ministry of Public Health in Thailand. Authorities are warning that the sale of such unapproved medical products can pose serious risks to consumer health. The ingredients in these weight-loss pens, if used improperly or without proper oversight, could lead to unforeseen side effects and adverse health outcomes. Phuket Police are continuing their investigation to identify any other individuals involved in this illicit trade. They are also urging the public to exercise caution when purchasing pharmaceutical products online, emphasizing the importance of verifying product approval status and the credibility of the seller.
