Drunk Relatives Clash During Drinking Session, One Dies

In Phnom Penh, Cambodia, a dispute between two relatives during a drinking session turned violent, resulting in the death of one man. The incident occurred around 6:30 PM on July 21st, at a house in Prey Pring South 2 Village, Chom Chao 3 Sangkat, Sen Sok District. The suspect, Cham Kem, a 48-year-old farmer, has been arrested. The victim was identified as Det Sarom, a 40-year-old glazier. Both individuals were related, described as 'brothers-in-law'. According to sources, the two men had been drinking together since 9 AM on the day of the incident. Around 6:50 PM, their conversation escalated into an argument over work-related connections, leading to a physical altercation. Neighbors intervened to separate them. Following the fight, the victim, Det Sarom, rode his motorcycle back to his home in Svay Ming Village, Bakou Commune, Kandal Stung District, Kandal Province. Upon arriving home, he informed his family about the argument and complained of chest pain. His family attempted to take him to Kandal Stung District Referral Hospital, but he lost consciousness during the journey. By the time they reached the hospital, he was pronounced dead. His family also stated that the victim had pre-existing health conditions, including diabetes and high blood pressure.
