Thailand to Host Inaugural Defence Industry Exhibition to Boost Self-Reliance
Thailand's Ministry of Defence will host the inaugural "THAIDEF-EX 2026" from July 8-10, 2026. The event aims to foster self-reliance and enhance the competitiveness of the Thai defence industry through collaboration between government, private sector, and researchers.
The Ministry of Defence is preparing to host the "THAILAND Defence Industry Exhibition 2026 (THAIDEF-EX 2026)", the first of its kind in Thailand, from July 8-10, 2026. The opening ceremony on July 8th at 8:00 AM will be presided over by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, along with Deputy Prime Ministers, the Minister of Defence, cabinet ministers, military commanders, the National Police Chief, executives from government agencies, and representatives from the defence industry and its network. Under the concept "Power of Self Reliance", this exhibition aims to significantly boost the potential of Thailand's defence industry. It will support research and development of technology, foster innovation, and integrate cooperation between the government, private sector, and educational institutions, which are crucial mechanisms for enhancing national security and self-reliance. Furthermore, the event seeks to leverage Thai research and technological achievements for commercial production and utilization, thereby adding economic value, promoting employment, and elevating the competitive capability of Thailand's defence industry on the international stage. During the exhibition from July 8-10, 2026, products and innovations in the defence industry from government agencies and the private sector will be displayed, alongside research work ready for actual production.
