Vietnam Communist Party Central Agencies' Youth Union Mobilizes Over VND 500 Million for Gratitude Activities

The Youth Union of the Communist Party of Vietnam's Central Agencies organized the "Gratitude - Passing on Tradition" journey in Tuyen Quang province on July 23-24, ahead of the 79th anniversary of Vietnam War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27). As part of the journey, the delegation offered incense and flowers at the Tan Trao National Special Historical Site, a place marking crucial historical decisions of the Vietnamese revolution and the capital of the Liberation Zone before the August Revolution in 1945. They also paid respects at the Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery, the resting place of thousands of cadres and soldiers who heroically fought and sacrificed in the defense of the country's northern border. Further tribute was paid at Elevation 468 in Thanh Thuy commune, Tuyen Quang province, a site that witnessed the tenacious and indomitable battles of the army and people in protecting national border sovereignty. Alongside these commemorative activities, the Youth Union of the Central Agencies coordinated with the Tuyen Quang Provincial Youth Union and local Party committees and authorities to organize numerous social welfare programs in Vi Xuyen and Thanh Thuy communes, mobilizing a total of VND 525 billion (approx. $20.5 million USD). Specifically, the delegation presented 3 "Houses of Kindness" to poor households and policy beneficiary families facing difficult circumstances. They also distributed 50 gratitude gifts to war invalids, veterans, policy beneficiaries, and individuals with contributions to the revolution. Additionally, 15 scholarships were awarded to disadvantaged students and children of policy beneficiary families. The Youth Union also presented 2 "Youth Medicine Cabinets," supported the construction of the "Lighting Up Rural Roads" project in Bach Ngoc commune and the "Lighting Up Border Roads" project in Thanh Thuy commune. These initiatives aim to improve living conditions, care for the health, and provide spiritual encouragement to policy beneficiary families, individuals with revolutionary contributions, and residents in the affected areas.
