Cambodia Red Cross Conducts Basic Knowledge and Safety Awareness Training for Youth

The Cambodian Red Cross Society's Preah Vihear Provincial Branch opened a training course on basic knowledge, the history of the movement, fundamental principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, Cambodian Red Cross first aid, and the promotion of plastic bag usage and traffic safety on Friday, July 17, 2026. The training was held at Sa'am High School for 56 Cambodian Red Cross youth members (52 females) and 54 newly recruited youth (52 females) in Sa'am village, Kantuot commune, Chom Ksan district, Preah Vihear province, under the presence of Mr. Hem Thun, Chairman of the Cambodian Red Cross Sub-branch Committee of Chom Ksan District. Mr. Hem Thun stated that the school has recruited youth to supplement the youth members who have passed their exams and will continue their studies. The current training is intended to provide youth with basic knowledge about the history and fundamental principles of the international Red Cross and Red Crescent movement, the role of youth Red Cross members, and especially first aid techniques. Concurrently, he advised the young participants to study hard to become good children, good students, and good friends, to stay away from drugs, to diligently abide by traffic laws, to help with household chores after studying, and to participate in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness at school and in other places.
