82 Indonesian Citizens with Issues Repatriated from Malaysia

The Indonesian Directorate General of Immigration has announced the repatriation of 82 Indonesian citizens who were involved in problematic situations in Malaysia. This repatriation operation was conducted under the framework of cooperation between the two countries concerning the management and deportation of migrants and individuals involved in criminal activities. The 82 Indonesian citizens repatriated were reportedly in violation of Malaysian laws or engaged in other problematic behaviors within Malaysia. According to the Immigration Directorate, they were detained and held by Malaysian authorities before the decision was made to repatriate them to Indonesia. While the Indonesian government supports the return of its citizens who encounter issues abroad, it also urges its nationals to abide by the laws of host countries.
