The duties of the advisory group include submitting necessary peace-related recommendations to the National Unity and Peace Process Central Committee, Working Committee, and Steering Committee; formulating practical recommendations for the effective implementation of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) and future processes; and preparing and submitting appropriate research findings, analyses, and recommendation papers after studying and analyzing the peace processes. Furthermore, its duties include studying, analyzing, and formulating ways for all stakeholders to participate in Myanmar's peace process, and coordinating and cooperating as needed with ethnic armed organizations, civil society organizations, intellectuals, and domestic and international peace mediation groups. In addition, the decree states that the allowances and benefits of the advisory group for the National Unity and Peace Process Steering Committee shall be disbursed from the approved budget of the Department of National Unity and Peace Process in accordance with the procedures.
