Phnom Penh, July 1, 2026 - His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia, on the occasion of the opening of the sixth session of the seventh legislature of the National Assembly, has called on all compatriots to unite as one Khmer family and provide firm support to the Royal Government in defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The royal message stated: "I appeal to all compatriots, both inside and outside the country, to continue to unite as one great Khmer family, with a spirit of sincere patriotism, trust, and full support for the Royal Government in defending sovereignty and territorial integrity, resolving border issues peacefully based on international law, and further developing and advancing Cambodia by putting the people at the core of state institutional reform and modernization." Furthermore, His Majesty encouraged all Cambodian citizens, especially the youth, to participate in implementing the Law on Military Obligation, contributing to the joint defense and development of the motherland, making it stronger and more robust. The King also added that members of the National Assembly have met directly with citizens, studying and understanding their concerns, needs, and contributing to the resolution of challenges.
