Attack on military checkpoints in Sintpaingwa Township, 13 soldiers killed, 1 captured alive, 1 weapon seized

Yangon, July 2 In Sintpaingwa Township, Magway Region, 13 soldiers were killed, one was captured alive, and one weapon was seized as a result of attacks on terrorist military checkpoints, the Thayet District Military Bureau announced. On April 29, revolutionary forces attacked the Nwelant Lan Pauk checkpoint and the Lemlan Lan Pauk checkpoint along the Yangon-Mandalay road in Sintpaingwa Township with heavy and small arms, resulting in one soldier killed and two injured on the military side, and one bunker destroyed, it was learned. On May 3 and 4, revolutionary forces launched drone bombing attacks on the Ekyae checkpoint on the Yangon-Mandalay road and the Tharsi Lan Pauk checkpoint on the Kopin-Thayet road in Sintpaingwa Township. The commander of the Ekyae checkpoint was injured and the building was damaged. At the Tharsi Lan Pauk checkpoint, four members of the terrorist military, including a captain, were killed, and many were severely injured. The remaining soldiers from that checkpoint joined the Baw Nyae school checkpoint, and the checkpoint was permanently occupied and burned down, it was learned. On May 27, the revolutionary forces also attacked and occupied the Sapay San (Oolwel swe) checkpoint on the Kopin-Thayet road section in Sintpaingwa Township. Four soldiers were killed on the military side, and one prisoner of war and some weapons and ammunition were seized. The checkpoint was permanently occupied and burned down, and the soldiers fled, it was learned. On June 5, the Thayet District Special Operations Force, Thayet District Regiment No. 5, and the Sintpaingwa Township People's Defense Force jointly attacked a military checkpoint at the intersection of the Kopin-Thayet road and the No. 1 District connecting road in Sintpaingwa Township. Four soldiers were killed on the military side, and four mobile phones were seized. Four bunkers at the military checkpoint were also captured, it was learned. As it is currently a period of revolution, the Thayet District Military Bureau has urged the public to travel and live as far away as possible from the terrorist military dictatorship group and to always be aware of security and be vigilant.
