Vietnam Punishes Two Party Officials for Violations

The Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Commission for Inspection has proposed disciplinary action against two high-ranking officials for violations of Party discipline. On September 11, the commission proposed disciplinary measures against Nguyen Huy Ngoc, a member of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Tho province. Previously, on September 7, disciplinary action was also proposed against Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan. These proposals were considered during the 12th session of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission in Hanoi, chaired by its head, Tran Sy Thanh. The actions follow a consideration by the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat on August 21 of proposals for disciplinary measures against Party members who committed violations. The Communist Party of Vietnam places significant emphasis on maintaining Party discipline and combating corruption as crucial elements for upholding its one-party rule.
